Sunlit Stripe 8″ x 10″ Oil on canvas – $475
Sunlit Stripe holds a single bowl in a field of deep blue, where the surrounding darkness allows the color to gather and steady itself. The stripes carry a rhythm—yellow, blue, a touch of green inside—each section holding its own weight while still belonging to the whole. I’ve been drawn to simplifying the composition, letting one object be enough.
Working with a darker background has shifted how I see these pieces. The light feels more defined here, held in place by contrast. It isn’t something I have to search for, but something that becomes more vivid because of what surrounds it.
Over time, these paintings have begun to carry a quieter undercurrent for me—something about moving through difficulty and noticing what becomes visible alongside it. Not in a resolved way, but in small, steady moments of color, of presence, of light.
If this piece resonates with you, I’d love to hear what emotions or thoughts you experience.
