Cobalt blue is such a powerful color and I had the opportunity to work with some beautiful cobalt blue pieces that a friend brought over for this still life arrangement, as well as some others. The blue bottle in this set up stood out with the bright white light being reflected off its side. Mixing in some golden/mustard hued fabric with an engaging ethnic motif served the set up well and was a “happy accident” in terms of where this still life was going.

There are a few more paintings in this series with the cobalt blue objects and I hope to work with them some more down the road! Enjoy!
