The beauty of a still life will always enchant me. I love taking simple objects and letting them speak to me when it comes to addressing the canvas. This painting is a reflection of simplicity that I identify with. It reminds me that the more I simplify my life the clearer and more vibrant my life becomes. Space unfolds and begins to allow new experiences. In the context of this painting the colors have room to express their nature in a way that is imaginative but connected to reality.
This theme of simplicity runs throughout many of my paintings. Some of the paintings have more patterning in the composition which is reflective of what’s going on my own life showing up on the canvas. What remains across the board is a working connection to a silhouette, or an outline as a foundation.
I hope you enjoy this simple treasure of “Symbolic Lines”. My hope is that the viewer has a new experience with color and still life painting.
