This still life radiates joy with its bold color contrasts and playful arrangement. A striped bowl brimming with apples is combined with the rich blues and purples of hydrangeas. Together, they create a lively conversation of shapes and textures. The patterned ground adds rhythm and energy, while the soft drape of fabric offers balance and calm.
Painted with my love for vibrant color and simple beauty, this piece celebrates the vitality found in everyday objects. A Zest for Life is meant to uplift and brighten the space it inhabits. It can be seen as a burst of energy. It can also be a quiet reminder of life’s small pleasures.
This painting was created on a gallery wrapped canvas in oils and is a signed original. ( The frame is for suggestion only.) If you have any questions or wish to purchase this painting, contact me at cmartzloffart@gmail.com. Thank you!

“Why fear” caught my eye, Catherine, and yes I so agree with you. Your words in this poem are a lesson in of themselves pointing how to live our lives, especially now. Love the spangles of different colored light both in the countertop and flowers and I also really loved the design on the bowl. You’ve been quite the busy one with that paint brush of yours. Good for you!! Stay in the place you love so much and before you know the raging storm will be behind you. Much love to you!! xo
Hi Amy, I appreciate hearing what you received from the painting and poem. Thank you for taking the time to articulate it. It’s interesting that you captured the essence of how I felt and I am standing with the intention to stay in the place I love so much while letting a form of storm move past me. It’s not always the easiest journey. Peace and love back to you!
Nice blog
Thank you so much!
Catherine, this painting and the reflective poem is simply enchanting and uplifting. Do you create prints of your work?
Hi Liza, Thank you so much! I have some paintings available through SaatchiArt in print form. It’s not something I do a lot of. This painting isn’t posted on that venue yet but will be down the road. If you might be interested let me know and I can contact you once it’s up.
