There’s something about zinnias that always lifts my spirit. This piece features a gathering of them from my own garden—bright, unruly, and full of personality. I was especially drawn to the mix of vivid colors in this bouquet. It ranged from citrusy yellows to berry pinks and warm corals. It felt like dipping into a painter’s palette. Hence the title, Paint Box Bouquet.
In the background, I brought in a few empty picture frames again—something I’ve been quietly exploring in recent pieces. They add a structural counterpoint to the looseness of the flowers. This creates a stage for the arrangement to sit within. I like how the frames subtly echo ideas I’m also working on for a future project. For now, they simply offer form and rhythm. They serve as soft architecture behind the blooms.
This painting, for me, is also a small celebration of what can emerge from seeds, sunlight, and care. Each flower in this bouquet began as something tiny, almost forgettable, but now they stand vibrant and alive. It’s a reminder that what we—whether in the soil or in ourselves—often surprises us with beauty.

Styling Tip for: “Paint Box Bouquet” – whether as a standalone statement piece or part of a curated collection.
This painting is especially lovely in spaces where you’d like to invite a little warmth and optimism. You can display it in a kitchen or breakfast nook. Another option is above a side table layered with fresh cut flowers in simple glass jars. The vivid colors pair beautifully with natural wood, linen, or vintage ceramic accents.
