Back in the kitchen, surrounded by vintage treasures and the gentle hum of creativity—that’s where this still life finds its heart. A classic blue-and-white cloth lays the foundation, a familiar stage for an arrangement gathered from my cupboard and fridge.
As I focus on the colors and shapes, I wonder what might “rise” from this simple assembly. Though we’re not baking bread here, something else is unfolding—unseen, untasted, perhaps a lemon meringue pie or a savory surprise waiting to come alive.
This painting is about joy and playfulness—the freedom to experiment in the “sandbox” of not knowing. It reminds me of childhood days spent mixing curious combinations, driven less by outcome and more by the thrill of exploration—often resulting in unexpectedly delicious creations.
This piece reflects the quiet richness of everyday spaces—the warmth, the layered textures, the interplay of pattern and light that turns ordinary moments into poetry. It’s a celebration of interiors bathed in sunlight, where the familiar becomes extraordinary.
