This colorful small sketch to helped me connect with the emerging energy of spring. It’s the vitality and hope of this season that can re-awakens my spirit after the longer days of winter.
The painting was created in acrylics on 100lb Bristol paper. As a spontaneous piece it’s full of imperfect strokes and the brilliant energy of life, love and miracles.
The painting is 6″ x 4.25″ without any of the paper edge included and comes directly from my sketchbook. It can be matted and framed.
In creating this piece I was loosely working from the image below. It was taken on a plein- air outing in one of my neighbors yards some years ago. The vibrant red azaleas are just so breathtaking. My imagination led me to add other plant life and color.
