“Summer III”

“Summer III” 9″ x 12″ Oil on canvas – $400

This is the last painting in a series of floral still life paintings I’ve worked on over the month or so. Each painting has a palette of energetic color. In the series I was drawn to the bright oranges and yellows that remind me of the summer sun.

What’s featured here are fresh cut tiger lilies which are a staple in my garden. They return each year and multiply! I’ve transplanted them over the years and I have come to count on their return each season. They are easy to grow and are beautiful around a bird bath or along the perimeter of a fence. They can be a striking addition to the garden.

Orange tiger lilies specifically symbolize pride, confidence and abundance. They grow tall and have beautiful long green stems. The ones I have are from before I moved into my house about 30 years ago, so I can’t take credit for their initial planting but I can vouch for their abundance and hardiness. I do love them and appreciate having enough of them to create a variety of still life set ups when they are in bloom.

This painting was created on a gallery wrapped canvas in oils and is a signed original. If you have any questions or wish to purchase this painting, contact me at cmartzloffart@gmail.com. Thank you!
