“New Hope by the Canal” 6″x 8″ Oil on canvas – SOLD
A beautiful day by the canal in historic New Hope, brought me to this charming scene. There was plenty of opportunity to explore the gifts of color within this landscapes vegetation and architecture.
The painting was derived within the last week from a reference photograph I took last year. The small town of New Hope, PA is full of artists and artistic inspiration. The lovely canal and tow path run behind some residences and shops. It’s lush atmosphere creates a beautiful canopy of shade and intimacy as you walk along. For this view I stood on the opposite side of the waterway so as to capture one of the historic buildings within the vista. The paintings simplified nature and bold color typifies the essence of my experience.
I hope the colorful charm and details in this special painting transport the viewer to the same magical place they brought me.
Enjoy!

There is a feeling of “flow” in this, Cathy. It put peace in my heart and stilled my breath. Loved it!!
Thank you Amy!
