“Floral Imprints” 30″ x 30″ Oil on canvas – Available
In working the painting I chose to emphasize the strong shapes and patterns of the entire visual space. Beautiful diagonal lights and shadows within the background and foreground areas were evident. These spaces were treated with equal importance to the main subjects, thus creating a flattening effect and offering a different visual structure for the viewer to engage with.
I really like exploring the unique relationship between line, color, space and form beyond the traditional methods. There are patterns throughout the world that form imprints and sometimes those need to be revisited, deconstructed and broken for something new to emerge.
