Early morning seems to always provide me with very special moments in nature. Whether its dew on the grass or a pink sky at daybreak. The visual moments are recorded in my soul and sometimes they make it to a canvas.
This oil painting was inspired on an early morning run where there was a deep mist hovering over the fields on a local farm. I was taken enough by the view to stop and snap some photos. And although the painting has a different feel to it I like the mystical quality and glow that has emerged in the process. Mostly, I will never forget that morning and the magic I experienced. Nature’s amazing way of coming together is sometimes more than I can handle with paint and canvas. Perhaps the next best thing is to simply share my inspiration with the hope someone else may also understand and have an experience.

You really have an ability to read morning light and shadows – this is superb. Reminds me of so many of the farms in Upstate NY that I grew up around.
Thanks Mary! I’m glad to hear you get the sense of morning. It was a really interesting moment to experience. I felt lucky to see it!
