“Heritage Park Walk”

Heritage Park Walk“Heritage Park Walk”  11″ x 14″ – SOLD

This colorful pathway was painted on Father’s Day. A quiet day for me with time for reflection, painting and friends.

Painting can be very soothing to my soul and perhaps that’s what drew me to this park and path on that day.   I’ve seen it through many seasons perhaps my most favorite being the Fall with the rich, warm, golden glow of color as the leaves make their transition.

It was a quiet afternoon.  I saw an occasional family meander by on foot or bike. Sometimes just a dad with his children.  I resonated with missing my dad. He lives 3000 miles away so I don’t see him very often.  Although, I did get to wish him a Happy Father’s day via the phone, and in that conversation I heard him tell me to keep painting.  He doesn’t know how valuable those words are to me after all these years.

That’s what I did and what I am doing. On occasion, the paintings are easier for me in terms of expressing all that goes on inside my heart.
