This small plein air oil painting was done about a month ago as I was working on a few scenes around my town. The street is one I walk down regularly with my dog and I’ve always loved this little shed arrangement. It’s nestled between two historic residences and a charming eclectic garden. Numerous times I’ve wished I had my camera and no matter what season is present the location carries a warm hearted charm.
Painted on a panel that was rather frustrating at the beginning because the paint slipped around. It’s one of the things I don’t like about some panels. However over time I was able to build up the paint and texture. The early signs of greenery and still barren branches added a lot to the character of the landscape on that day.

Wonderful impressionist scene, beautiful thick strokes that really make the painting stand out.
Thanks Mary! I value your input.
