After making a number of visits to this beautiful Lavender farm in Pennsylvania I decided to paint a larger rendering in my studio working from previous studies and a photographic reference from my visits.

I liked the composition of elements and light. In the process I aimed to build up texture with the paint, especially in the foreground, playing up the vivid lavender and violet hues. 

This farm had such a magical quality to it and an expressive nature that was hard to resist!
