Eternal Garden of Peonies, is the first in a collection of what I am referring to as “COMPOSITE” paintings. I’ve been painting small canvases for awhile and have also been aware of a need to bring more to the work on a larger scale. The inspiration is also attached to a need or interest in exploring the idea of “parts of a whole” and the beauty within the parts.
This painting evolved beginning with a few plein air sketches done at a local botanical garden here in New Jersey. I started putting them together and the idea came to continue adding and sort of re-create a “garden”.
